Ask Merriwell
An AI wedding planner that works on your plan, and waits for your yes.
Tell it what you want in plain words. It looks at your guest list, budget, checklist, timeline and seating chart, answers from your own numbers, and puts any change on a card. You tap Approve, or you don't. Nothing happens until you do, and for 30 days Undo puts back whatever hasn't changed since.

These answers are written out in advance. This demo never calls an AI, so it costs nothing and shares nothing.
What it does in each tool
It works through the tools you already use. It reads your own plan to answer, and for changes it makes a card.
- Guest list
- Tells you how many are coming, can't come and haven't replied, for each event.
- Checklist
- Tells you what's done, what's due this month and what needs catching up on.
- Budget
- Tells you the total, what's paid and what's left to spend, and what's due next. Turns a pasted quote into budget lines, or records a payment, on a card for you to approve.
- Day-of timeline
- Reads back your running order for the day.
- Drinks calculator
- Reads back the numbers you saved.
- Seating chart
- Tells you how many tables are set and how many guests still need a seat, and suggests a seating chart for you to approve.
- Monday check-in
- On Plus, an optional email each Monday with three things for the week, written from your plan.
What it never does
The approve step is the main guard. These are the rules around it.
- It never changes your plan without your tap on Approve.
- It never recommends a vendor, a venue, a shop or a brand. Ask for a photographer and it offers to add "Book a photographer" to your checklist with a budget line.
- It never sends a message or a payment for you. The one email is the Monday check-in, and only if you turn it on. It can't open links or browse the web.
- It never writes, changes or guesses dietary, health or religion details.
- It never gives legal advice. For a marriage license it points you to your county clerk.
- It never assumes who the partners are, or calls anyone the bride or the groom.
- Totals, dates and counts come from your own plan, not from guesswork.
Privacy
It sends the least it can to answer: counts, dates and totals. Email addresses and phone numbers are taken out of anything you type or paste before it goes, home addresses from your guest list are never sent, and it asks for guest names only when a question needs them.
To answer, the text goes to Anthropic in the US. Anthropic doesn't train on this data and deletes it within 30 days by default. Your chats stay with your wedding, you can clear them any time, and they are deleted when the wedding is.
Everything it writes carries an AI tag, so you always know who wrote what.
Price
Every request counts as one, big or small. A message that fails, is refused or takes too long doesn't count, and sending it again doesn't count twice. A suggestion you turn down was still a request. Partners share the wedding's allowance.

Questions people ask
- Is it free to try?
- Yes. Each wedding gets 10 free tries, once. After that it's part of Plus, which is $6 a month for 300 requests a month, or $99 once for 100 a month.
- Does it recommend vendors?
- No. It never recommends, ranks or links to a vendor, venue, shop or brand. If you ask for a photographer, it offers to add "Book a photographer" to your checklist with a budget line.
- Can it send emails for me?
- No. It can't send anything, open links or browse the web. It makes a suggestion, and nothing changes until you tap Approve.
- Is my guest list used to train AI?
- No. It sends the least it can: email addresses and phone numbers are taken out first, home addresses from your guest list are never sent, and Anthropic doesn't train on this data. Anthropic deletes it within 30 days by default.
- Does it work on my phone?
- Yes. The Ask button sits in the corner of every tool, within thumb reach, and the chat slides up over the tool you're in. You can type, or hold the mic to talk. The mic uses your phone's own speech recognition, so Apple or Google hears the words.
- Can it write our vows?
- Not at the moment. It works on the plan itself: guests, budget, checklist, timeline and seating. Vows are personal, so they stay out of the planner.
- What if it gets something wrong?
- Nothing changes until you tap Approve, so a wrong suggestion changes nothing in your plan. It still counts as one request, even if you turn it down. For 30 days, Undo puts back what hasn't changed since, and anything you've changed yourself is left as you have it. Numbers come from your own plan, not from the AI's memory, and if it can't do something it says so.
